large city  (population of about 172,000 within
the city limits and a greater metropolitan area
population of over 350,000), has numerous
cultural and tourist opportunities, as well as
numerous colleges and universities.  
Tallahassee is also home to the closest
"international airport" serving Bobcat Resort,
which is located south of downtown

Quitman, Georgia's CAMELLIA CITY,  is the County Seat of Brooks County, GA and the closest local town (population less than 5,000) to Bobcat Resort for
restaurants and other goods/services.

Quitman is a lovely small town with many historic homes along North Court Street, which is located behind the Brooks County Courthouse.  Some of our
newest citizens call Quitman the "Mayberry of South Georgia".....a warm friendly town noted for its charm.  

While in town, stroll along and visit our shops along our main downtown avenue, Schreven Street (US HWY 84), eat in one of our interesting restaurants, sit in
the shade in our Victorian gazebo in Courthouse Square, then visit our local Historical Museum, just east of the Courthouse in downtown.

Quitman is reknowned as one of the Antique Meccas of the South.  Numerous antique stores are in downtown.  Quitman also has a pharmacy, two grocery
stores, a few convenience stores, several fast food chains, a few fine dining and several "fast-food" restaurants, a few gas stations, doctors and a hospital .

NOTE:  Though beer is available in town at the grocery stores, hard alcohol is not available anywhere in the City of Quitman or elsewhere in Brooks County.
Valdosta, Georgia (25 miles)
Valdosta, Georgia's AZALEA CITY,  is the closest
local city to Bobcat Resort (population of about
45,000).

historic downtown area.

is the second closest local city to Bobcat Resort
(population of about 18,000) where you can
find hard alcohol and such major retailors as
WALMART, LOWES and PUBLIX MARKET as well
as a large State Farmer's Market.  Several fine
restaurants can also be found in Thomasville.

Thomasville is reknown for many large
"post-antibellium" period plantations and also
has a large and lovely historic downtown area
and vintage residential historic district.  

Thomasville has numerous annual festivals
throughout the year, including the annual Rose
Show and Festival (4th week in April) and a
number of other festivals throughout the fall,
spring and winter seasons, particularly
between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  In
December, Thomasville hosts their Annual
Victoria Christmas event.  There are a number
of outlying shopping centers.  A wide variety of
service providers, such as chain restaurants,
pharmacies, grocery stores and restaurants,
gas stations, doctors and a hospitals are
available within the city limits.
